\r\nWith more than 30 years of history, Havan is one of the largest department store chains in Brazil. Present in 16 Brazilian states with more than 1.5 million square meters of area built, the network employs 15.000 direct employees in more than 120 stores, making approximately 7 billion Reais per year.

The challenge
\r\n\r\nA few years ago, analog technology was the only alternative to video monitoring, allowing only local storage of images without any intelligence to previously identify offenses or the need for maintenance. In 2017, the retail giant saw a new opportunity to increase security by implementing an IP platform, improving camera resolution and bringing intelligence to the business – and this need was the entry point for Intelbras in this project.
\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
The Solution
\r\n\r\nThe partnership between the two companies began in 2010, when Havan migrated its telephony system to IP technology, through the customization of the cip 850 telephone exchange, bringing savings for communication between employees across the network by migrating the system to the cloud. In all, Havan has 2.500 IP telephone devices and 20 telephone exchanges provided by Intelbras.
\r\n\r\nIn addition to IP telephony, each store receives, on average, 52 cameras, being more than 2.000 installed so far and with forecast of 6.000 cameras until the end of the project. The update has also resulted in the installation of 1.800 presence sensors, reaching 5.000 when installed at all points of sale; and another 200 biometric access controls – Models SS411E and LE 311E – housed in restricted areas such as stocks and security rooms.

\r\n
\r\nBesides the new devices, the Brazilian manufacturer bet on the partnership with Canadian Genetec to provide the Security Center Intelbras Edition platform to Havan.
\r\n\r\n
The benefits
\r\n\r\nThe solution enables the integration of video surveillance technologies, intrusion alarms and hassle-free access control and offers, in a single platform that is easy to use, the advanced functionalities of all these technologies, allowing integration to facilitate operation. The system improves the performance of the devices, with control of operation, speed in image searches and centering of the system of all stores at a single point, optimizing costs.
\r\n\r\nThe migration to the IP architecture also allowed Havan to reduce its operating costs and systematize its loss prevention area. Unlike analog architecture, where each site recorded its images to recover later for an offense, advanced Security Center Intelbras Edition federation capabilities allowed Havan to create its Unified Monitoring Center.
\r\n\r\nAlthough processing and recording is still done on servers in a local way, the federalized connection allows cameras to be accessed remotely through the cloud on a centralized server, with all VMS software resources available for the Operation.

\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
The more than 2.000 cameras already installed can be monitored by only three or four operators per shift. In case of communication failure, the system is still in operation, with all VMS features accessible on the store server.
\r\n\r\nIn addition, Security Center Intelbras Edition allows the company to quickly identify and issue an alarm in the event of a device\'s failure or shutdown, ensuring the identification and effective planning of any necessary maintenance, which will be the responsibility of intelbras\' resales network throughout Brazil.
